Welcome to the third newsletter of our Erasmus+ project 3DP-VET

“3D Printing in VET”, (project number 2019-1-EL01-KA202-062909) is a project funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Programme (KA2, Strategic partnerships for innovation and exchange of good practices in the field of VET).

3D printing in VET last 24 months {1-10-2019 to 30-09-2021) and it involves 8 partners from 6 different countries: Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (Germany}, European Education and learning Institute (Greece), CENTRO INTERNAZIONALE PER LA PROMOZIONE DELL EDUCAZIONE E LO SVILUPPO ASSOCIAZIONE (Italy), Escola Técnica de Imagem e Comunicaçao Aplicada(Portugal), UNIVERSITA TELEMATICA INTERNAZIONALE-UNINETTUNO (Italy), WYZSZA SZKOLA EKONOMII I INNOWACJI W LUBLINIE(Poland), INERCIA DIGITAL SL (Spain)and KEKAPER-REGION OF CRETE (Greece) which is the coordinator.

The project highlights the need for good quality upfront traihinu of teachers when introducing neu technologies including teaching approaches and effective use ot 30 printers n education. Prolect seeks to develop a tomoetitive training programme specialisee for the VET teachers and educators_ based on international experiences The training programme will support teachers and educators to acquire the knowledge_ skills md comgetencies needed for the use of 30 grinters on sevezl educational subjects being taught in VET sector.

Our third intellectual output “IO3: Curriculum on 3D Printing” is ready!

The overarching goal of the 3DP-VET project is to design a competitive training programme on 3D printing use for teachers and trainers in VET. With this in mind, the 3DP-VET course (3D Printing in Vocational Education and Training) seeks to introduce VET teachers/ educators to the use of 3D Printers in Vocational Education and Training in Europe.

The 3DP-VET curriculum is a detailed plan of the course with a clear definition of learning outcomes and a sequence of learning activities. The methodology of working out the programme is based on the following principles.

  • The curriculum addresses concrete identified needs of VET teachers,
  • The learning programme covers the aspects of 3D Printing which can be easily applied in education,
  • The curriculum is open to further input/modifications in the course of the training material development and its pilot implementation in the 3DP VET course for VET teachers.

Against this backdrop, the course is divided into six distinct Modules, which could also be studied independently. The duration of study of each Module is approximately 4 – 6 hours.
